Job Description

Position Title: Home to School Coordinator

Reports To: Principal

Salary: Based on Experience

FLSA Status: Exempt

Mission: The Caledonia Central Supervisory Union and its seven member schools create a learning community where each individual achieves the highest standards of excellence in intellectual growth and citizenship. At Twinfield, instruction is relevant to students’ lives, encouraging active participation and fostering authentic relationships, curiosity, creativity, and design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain clear, consistent communication with families regarding instructional programs and student progress.
  • Build collaborative partnerships with families and community partners to support student learning and success.
  • Coordinate and promote family engagement opportunities such as conferences, newsletters, open houses, and individual meetings.
  • Facilitate positive, respectful, and culturally responsive communication between home and school.
  • Assist families in understanding school procedures, expectations, and available supports.
  • Support conflict resolution and collaborative problem‑solving between families and school personnel.
  • Connect families with school‑based and community resources related to academics, mental health, food security, housing, healthcare, and transportation.
  • Support student attendance initiatives and intervention efforts, including developing attendance plans.
  • Collaborate with counselors, teachers, administrators, and support staff to improve student engagement and connectivity.
  • Assist students and families during transitions between grade levels, programs, or school placements.
  • Maintain documentation of family outreach, meetings, and support services; track communication efforts and referrals to community resources.
  • Assist administrators with data collection and reporting related to attendance, family engagement, and student support initiatives.
  • Participate in professional development related to family engagement, student support, and culturally responsive practices.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Communications, or related field preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals conforming to school/district standards.
  • Proficient with word processing programs; experience with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace preferred.
  • Ability to interpret and use data, including test results and attendance metrics, to inform decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, families, teachers, administrators, and community organizations.
  • Skill in conflict resolution and culturally responsive practices.
  • Physical ability to lift or move up to 30 pounds, stand and sit for prolonged periods, and perform repetitive motions with hands and wrists.
  • Capacity to adapt to moderate noise and controlled temperature environments.
