Behavioral Interventionists at ChOICE Academy play a critical role in supporting youth within an integrated educational and mental health setting. Through consistent supervision, structured behavioral programming, and relationship-based interventions, you help students strengthen academic engagement, develop positive peer relationships, and build independence in daily living skills. Your work supports students across classroom, treatment, and community environments, creating stability and opportunity for growth.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide direct supervision and support to students individually and in group settings.
Implement behavioral and treatment plans in collaboration with a team of interventionists and clinical staff.
Support students in developing social, emotional, and daily living skills across classroom and community environments.
Foster positive, respectful relationships that promote student engagement, safety, and independence.
Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with agency standards.
Participate in team meetings, trainings, and ongoing collaboration to ensure consistent, high-quality care.
Support crisis prevention and intervention efforts, including the use of de-escalation strategies and restraint techniques when required.

The starting rate for this position is between $23.83 and $24.80 per hour depending on prior experience.
Summary of Qualifications Education High school diploma or equivalent required.
Relevant post-secondary education in human services, education, psychology, social work, or a related field is preferred.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Clear, effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to build trust and maintain professional relationships with students, families, school staff, and WCMHS colleagues.
Showcases respect and empathy for individuals with disabilities and diverse backgrounds.
Willingness and ability to complete specialized training in physical and verbal de-escalation, crisis intervention, and passive restraint techniques.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and remain physically active throughout the day.
Valid driver’s license, excellent driving record, and access to a safe, reliable, insured vehicle.
Work Environment This role is based in and around classroom settings within ChOICE Academy and may include community-based activities. Behavioral Interventionists frequently move throughout the building and outdoor spaces and provide consistent supervision for students with challenging behaviors. Team members work collaboratively and provide coverage for one another as needed to maintain continuity of care. The position includes a combination of active, on-your-feet work and computer-based documentation, which may involve extended periods of sitting or standing at a workstation.
