Truck Driver - Hiker​/Vehicle Transporter​/CDL - Part Time

Position Summary

Penske Truck Leasing seeks highly motivated and qualified applicants to fill the unique position of Hiker (Vehicle Transporter/Truck Driver). This casual/on-call part-time truck driving job is perfect for licensed CDL Class B or CDL Class A drivers seeking supplemental income, working 0–25 hours a week based on business needs. Position located at Penske facility 40 Kellogg Road, Essex Junction, VT.

• Follow safety procedures while driving to Penske or customer locations.
• Check vehicles for mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment; report issues.
• Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods; collect payment when required.
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage.
• Complete other projects and tasks as assigned.

• 2 years of driving experience required.
• Clean DMV motor vehicle record required.
• Valid Class B CDL required; applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence.
• CDL Class A license preferred.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions.
• Independent work, customer service skills, organizational skills, positive attitude required.
• English language proficiency required.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance essential.
• Required DOT compliance: current driver qualification file, annual MVR, DOT Physical, safety performance history, DOT drug screening, FMCSA Clearinghouse review.
• Willingness to travel as necessary; work required schedule; complete Penske application; background, education, criminal history, and drug screening required.

• Must be able to see and hear; specific vision abilities required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) regularly and 100 lbs (45 kg) occasionally.
• Must legally operate a motor vehicle and safely enter/exit the vehicle and rear cargo area.

$20–$20.75 per hour
