Position: Shuttle Driver (Non-CDL) - Winter 2025/26
Location: Jay

The Non-CDL Shuttle Driver, under general supervision of the Shuttle Supervisor, provides safe, courteous, and on‑time transportation to resort guests and staff to and from local and regional (Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, New York, USA and Montreal, Canada) transportation hubs and terminals such as airports, bus stations, and rail stations, as well as tourist attractions, restaurants, and events in the United States and Canada.

ESSENTIAL

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Communicate by radio and/or cell telephone.
  • Provide verbal and written reports and respond to operational issues per prescribed policy.
  • Have a clean driving record and a valid Vermont Driver License.
  • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections, cleaning, and servicing to assist in maintaining vehicles in a safe operating condition.
  • Follow an on‑demand schedule of pick‑ups and drop‑offs at transportation hubs and terminals.
  • Adhere to traffic regulations, collect fares, and provide verbal information to the public regarding routes, schedules, and transfer points.
  • Greet every customer in a friendly, professional manner.
  • Develop or be willing to develop a working knowledge of the history and amenities of Jay Peak Resort and regional points of interest in the US and Canada.
  • Be flexible with work shifts/hours, including overtime, to service late departures and arrivals, peak volume periods, vacated shifts, and other emergency situations.
  • Follow all Jay Peak, Inc. work rules and procedures as set forth in the Employee Handbook and through management’s instruction.
  • Listen to customer complaints and direct information to the Shuttle Supervisor.
  • Maintain and ensure complete customer service for all guests and staff members utilizing the service.
  • May be asked to perform any additional duties and special tasks as assigned.
  • In the absence of the Shuttle Supervisor, report to the Security Supervisor on duty.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must have a clean driving record and a valid Vermont Driver’s License.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Regularly required to sit. Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, and reach with hands & arms. Occasionally required to climb or balance. Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision requirements of this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions; outdoor weather conditions and extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
