Business Development Manager – Wealth Management
Morgan Stanley, a global financial services firm, is hiring a Business Development Manager (BDM) to support the Wealth Management Field and Client Business Development Group.
Key Responsibilities- Working knowledge of the Firm’s entire suite of products and tools
- Accurately and effectively position each major product capability against suitable client needs, and refer Financial Advisor inquiries to the right internal partners when necessary
- Demonstrate in‑depth knowledge of platforms and tools that support key National initiatives and specific Regional priorities
- Develop strategic and tactical business plans to drive positive results
- Continuously grow and develop Financial Advisors’ practices through training, education, and one‑on‑one conversations
- Engage with Product Partners across the Firm to ensure Financial Advisors have the proper training and knowledge of both existing and new tools and resources
- Deliver initiatives to Branch/Complex offices and Financial Advisors using a variety of methods
- Roll out key initiatives desk‑to‑desk
- Conduct deep‑dive book reviews and segmentation analyses
- Execute tactical campaigns
- Procure and facilitate outside resources
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Wealth Management as a Financial Advisor with satisfactory production and compliance record, or comparable product area or management experience
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Active Series 7 and 66 (or 63 and 65) required upon hire or within 120 days of hire date
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to establish alignment among stakeholders
- Strong and creative problem‑solving skills
- Confident, flexible, and resilient team player
- Adaptable communication style to build relationships at all levels
- Ability to autonomously develop, deliver, and execute strategic plans
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $110,000 and $185,000 per year at the commencement of employment. Base pay if hired will be determined individually and is only part of the total compensation package, which may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short‑ and long‑term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley‑sponsored benefit programs.
