  • Location: Landgrove, Vermont (Southern VT)
  • Duration: Summer 2026 (extendable to future academic terms — fall, winter)
  • Academic credit available — we'll work with your school on paperwork

About The Landgrove

We're a 16-room historic inn with a full-service restaurant, an Art Studio hosting 35–40 workshops a year with nationally and internationally recognized artists—set on 23 acres in Vermont's Green Mountains—minutes from Bromley, Stratton, Magic, and Okemo, and next door to the Appalachian Trail.

Under new ownership, we're preserving the inn's soul while elevating food, service, and programming for families, artists, and nature lovers. Our mission: to be a genuinely kind place that strengthens community.

The Role

You'll help run a working inn with a nationally known arts programs—assisting with art workshops led by visiting artists, serving guests from all sorts of backgrounds, running real events, and making real work in one of the most beautiful corners of New England.

Specific responsibilities will be shaped in part by your skills, interests, and the evolving needs of the inn—we're building something together.

  • Assist with any and all roles at the inn and restaurant, ranging from guest check-in, answering phones, and housekeeping to front and back of house roles in the restaurant (serving, bussing, kitchen prep, dishwashing, etc.)
  • Help facilitate on-site art workshops and artist retreats. Support studio setup, supply management, and event scheduling
  • Contribute to marketing, event planning, and creative content (e.g., photography, social media, and signage)
  • Help design or coordinate one programming concept of your own (e.g., limited art classes for inn guests and the community such as paint & sip events, introductory art classes for adults and or kids, etc.)

What You Bring

  • Current college student or recent graduate in Studio Art, Fine Arts, Craft, Design, Art Education, or a related field
  • Warm, reliable, and comfortable in a small-team environment
  • Physically active and comfortable in a hands-on, rural setting
  • A self-starter who doesn't wait to be told what needs doing
  • Your own vehicle—required;
Landgrove is rural and a car is essential for daily life
  • Interest in food, hospitality, or the business of creative experiences is a plus

You don't need a hospitality background. You do need to be a people person who makes guests feel genuinely welcome—and someone who makes things.

Schedule

Variable; 30–50 hours/week based on inn occupancy, workshop schedule, and events. Evenings and weekends required.

  • $2,500/month stipend
  • Housing and meals (included)
  • Relocation assistance
  • Earned PTO and Vermont-compliant sick leave
  • Complimentary participation in at least 3 art workshops running in the studio (availability permitting)
  • Dedicated studio time and access to the Art Studio
  • Mentorship from visiting artists across mediums
  • Academic credit available upon request
  • Opportunity to extend into fall and winter terms
