Long Term Substitute Classroom Teacher

The Mt. Abraham Unified School District is seeking a dedicated and experienced Long-Term Substitute Classroom Teacher to join our team at Monkton Central School for a temporary assignment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing instruction and support to students in ___ grade in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. The assignment is anticipated for late October 5, 2026 through December 23, 2026.

• Deliver instruction based on lesson plans provided by the regular classroom teacher.
• Maintain a positive and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Implement classroom management strategies to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
• Assess student learning and progress, and provide feedback to students and school staff as needed.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support the academic and social-emotional development of students.
• Communicate with parents/guardians about student progress and any concerns or issues that arise.
• Participate in school meetings, professional development activities, and other school-related events as required.

Salary: $307.76 per day.

• Bachelor's degree in Education.
• Candidates must have, or be eligible for, a Vermont Educator License with elementary endorsement.
• Previous experience in teaching or substitute teaching, preferably in elementary education.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to different teaching styles and environments.
• Flexibility and willingness to collaborate with colleagues.
• At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
• Bachelor degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
