Water​/Wastewater Assistant Operator

The Village of Ludlow Water and Sewer Department is seeking a professional, highly motivated and responsible person to join our team. He/She/They must be reliable, eager to learn, have a professional attitude and possess a strong work ethic.

• Have a High School Diploma or GED
• Have & maintain a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Live within a 30-minute radius of Ludlow, VT
• Have the ability to work with our industry’s tools to perform routine maintenance in all types of weather conditions
• Have basic math and computer skills to handle lab work / input computer data - knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel along is a plus but not required
• Must follow established procedures and routines to assure that the water and wastewater treatment plants continue to run at high standards while following all Town/Village safety policies.
• Have the ability to listen, understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
• Provide on-call coverage as assigned, including rotating weekends and possible nights and holidays during emergencies.
• Water and Wastewater treatment experience, along with Vermont Water and Wastewater Certifications is preferred, but is not required. However if successful candidate has no certifications, then this individual will be required to obtain Vermont Class 3 Water, Class D Water and Grade 3 Wastewater Certifications WITHIN TWO YEARS of employment.
