Principal level engineer
- Electrical Aviation - to manage engineers, lead projects and own end to end
We are seeking a talented Principal Electronics Design Engineer to develop advanced electronic hardware for next-generation electrified systems. This role offers the opportunity to work across power electronics, motor control, digital and analog circuit design, and EMI/EMC compliance within a highly innovative engineering environment.
Responsibilities- Design and develop electronic hardware for advanced electromechanical systems
- Create schematics and support circuit architecture development
- Design and analyze EMI/EMC mitigation solutions, including power and signal filtering
- Develop digital circuits utilizing microprocessors, ADCs, memory devices, communication interfaces, and peripheral components
- Design, test, and validate motor control and inverter-related circuitry
- Analyze analog signal conditioning circuits and system performance using simulation tools
- Perform power budget calculations, thermal analysis, and hardware performance assessments
- Build, test, troubleshoot, and validate prototype hardware
- Develop electronic test fixtures and hardware validation procedures
- Review PCB layouts and collaborate with manufacturing partners to ensure design integrity and manufacturability
- Support component selection, sourcing activities, and obsolescence management
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline
- 5+ years of experience in electronic hardware design and schematic capture
- Experience using Altium Designer or equivalent PCB design software
- Familiarity with electrical simulation and circuit analysis tools
- Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design principles
- Hands‑on laboratory experience using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power supplies, and other test equipment
- Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Experience with rapid prototyping and PCB development tools
- Strong background in power supply design and performance analysis
- Experience with resonant and soft‑switching power converter topologies
- Knowledge of electromagnetic field simulation tools and methods
- PCB layout experience and understanding of electronics manufacturing standards
- Experience with version control and configuration management practices
- Familiarity with microcontroller configuration and embedded hardware development
- Understanding of requirements-based design methodologies
- Experience evaluating control loop stability, transfer functions, gain, and phase margins
- Interest in transportation, aerospace, robotics, energy systems, or other advanced technology sectors
