Position:
Fire Chief
Status:
Full Time
Under administrative direction, serves as Fire Chief and commands the staff, activities, and operations of the Killington Fire/EMS Department, including firefighting, rescue, and emergency medical services while assuring KFD/EMS compliance with State/Federal laws and the public safety goals of our Town.
Education:
Associate degree in Fire Science, Business, or Public Administration; AND seven (7) years increasingly responsible experience in Fire Department administrative management which includes supervisory and fiscal management responsibilities; OR equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Required Licenses andCertifications:
- Must possess a valid Vermont Driver’s License, Class B commercial license preferred, and maintain an acceptable driving record
- Vermont, Accredited Fire Fighter II Pro-Board and Emergency Medical Responder license from Vermont Department of Health (or other reciprocal state licensures)
- NIMS IC-400
- Vermont Certified EMT status or must acquire 12-16 months (once hired)
- Additional technical skills training and certifications may be required.
