EMS Paramedic​/AEMT

Morristown EMS is seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented Paramedic or Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) to fill a full-time position.

This position requires shift work, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and response operations in all weather conditions.

Compensation

• Starting hourly wage: $24.29/hour for AEMTs
• Starting hourly wage: $28.09/hour for Paramedics
• Compensation is based on experience and certification level.

Minimum Qualifications

Successful candidates must possess:

• Current National Registry certification and Vermont licensure as a Paramedic or AEMT
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to obtain American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Instructor certification within one (1) year of employment
• HAZ-MAT Awareness certification or equivalent, or the ability to obtain certification within one (1) year of employment
• ICS 100, ICS 200, ICS 700, and ICS 800 certifications, or the ability to obtain them within one (1) month of employment
• Completion of an Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC), or the ability to complete equivalent vehicle operations training approved by Morristown EMS leadership within one (1) year of employment

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Thorough knowledge of Vermont State and District 4 EMS protocols
• Proficiency in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) skills, including airway management, cardiac care, medication administration, and patient assessment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent documentation skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively with fire, law enforcement, hospital personnel, and the public
• Professional demeanor and commitment to public service
