What You'll Be DoingAs a Systems Administrator at Agri‑Mark, you will fulfill a role in the ongoing maintenance of the organization’s enterprise‑class, mission‑critical systems on an evolving physical and cloud‑based infrastructure. This position is responsible for software upgrades, network management, configuration changes, and the use of technical tools to support existing systems. You will provide technical assistance to IS team members and third parties with a high degree of professionalism, working in concert with Architects, Engineers, Business Analysts, and other subject matter experts to complete assigned tasks on time and within budget.
You will also provide training, expertise, and escalation support to IS team members and other users, and should show an eagerness to learn from and collaborate with coworkers.
- Supporting physical, virtual and datacenter infrastructure required to maintain the organization’s mission‑critical systems and line‑of‑business applications.
- Building and maintaining strong partner relationships with 3rd parties; work seamlessly with vendors, consultants, subject matter experts and Value‑Added Resellers (VARs).
- Implementing and supporting best‑practice security solutions.
- Monitoring day‑to‑day network and system performance; diagnosing network problems and resolving issues, often under time constraints.
- Managing and supporting enterprise network management systems, monitoring tools, scripting/automation tools, security tools, and utilities to enhance network resilience.
- Maintaining and reviewing comprehensive documentation as it relates to network configuration, topology, process, standards and change management.
- Providing support of systems by troubleshooting hardware, software, connectivity and other issues.
- Managing system and data backups using on‑prem and cloud tools.
- Remaining current on emerging technologies via professional groups, trade publications, training, independent research, and other avenues.
- Promoting and maintaining a positive attitude, a strong work ethic and a commitment to the success of all projects and teams within the IS department.
- Providing operational support at various Agri‑Mark facilities.
- Acting as an escalation resource for other IS team members.
- Providing direct technical support and guidance to key decision‑makers in the fulfillment of well‑informed planning, capacity, budgetary and capital decisions made by the IS department.
- Performing other IS duties as required.
- A combination of a bachelor’s degree in a technical field and/or relevant combination of education, training and experience. Formal training is desirable (e.g., Microsoft Certified Professional, Cisco Certified Network Associate).
- Minimum 4 years of progressive responsibility for deploying and supporting modern server and networking environments at a technical level.
- Strong experience maintaining and supporting enterprise‑class hardware to support physical and virtual server workloads running Windows operating systems. At least 4 years of experience with virtualization on VMware or Nutanix.
- Experience working with complex routed/switched networks in fiber‑optic campus environments comprised predominantly of Cisco devices.
- Experience supporting high performance, scalable solutions to fulfill business continuity and disaster recovery requirements of the organization.
- Experience supporting Microsoft Azure‑based virtual environments using Azure Management Portal.
