Overview

This job is responsible for defining and leading the engineering approach for complex features to deliver significant business outcomes. The role is accountable for end-to-end solution design and delivery, defining an architectural vision that aligns with the enterprise architecture strategy and technology and platform choices for the defined domain (Business, Application, Data and Technology).

Responsibilities
  • Ensures that the design and engineering approach for complex features are consistent with the larger portfolio solution.
  • Defines the technology tool stack for the solution and evaluates and adapts new testing tool/framework/practices for team(s).
  • Enables team(s)/applications with Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) capabilities and engages with other technical stakeholders pertaining to efficient functioning of the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Guides and influences team(s) on design and best practices for high code performance – e.g. pairing, code reviews.
  • Provides end-to-end delivery of complex features, including automation, for either a single team or multiple teams, at the program level.
  • Conducts research, design prototyping and other exploration activities such as evaluating new toolsets and components for release management, CI/CD, and features.
  • Works with stakeholders to establish high-level solution needs and with architects for technical requirements.
  • Applies strong analytical thinking to solve complex problems, anticipate future challenges, and identify new opportunities.
  • Promotes collaboration across business and technology, strengthening team effectiveness.
  • Influences decisions by building strong stakeholder partnerships and leveraging domain expertise.
  • Ensures sustainable results by defining KPIs and making strategic technology decisions that drive measurable business value.
  • Drives adoption and continuous improvement of the solution delivery process across teams.
  • Defines governance models, aligns stakeholders to strategic objectives, and ensures accountability.
  • Brings strong business product knowledge and integrates efficiency initiatives into technology solutions.
  • Proactively identifies hidden risks and dependencies, establishing controls to mitigate impact.
  • Manages financials and resources by tracking variances to ensure alignment with value stream objectives.
  • Leads program and portfolio planning, facilitating backlog prioritization while managing risks, dependencies, and impediments across Agile and waterfall frameworks.
Required Qualifications
  • Solution Design – Demonstrated expertise in solution design across multiple technologies; can identify opportunities for technical training and coaching across the organization.
  • Test Engineering – Demonstrated expertise in testing strategies and tools; can identify opportunities for technical training and coaching across the organization.
  • Dev Ops and Release Automation – Designs, develops and rolls out best practices for CI/CD processes and tools; identifies gaps and enables teams to adopt Dev Ops culture for continuous value delivery.
  • Application Data Architecture – Designs architectures for an area or division; builds the business-technology relationship through aligning business goals and strategy with technology implementation.

  • Solution Delivery Process – Drives adoption and continually improves processes in the solution delivery process across teams.
  • Governance Stakeholder Management – Decides the governance needed for an area; defines the stakeholders for the area and maps them to strategic objectives and requirements.
  • Business Products Strategy – Strong knowledge of products and services at functional and data levels within the business area; participates in development or integration of lean/efficiency initiatives into technology.
  • Risk Management – Identifies risks/dependencies that are not easily evident; defines controls needed to resolve/mitigate.
  • Financials Resource Management – Ability to track project/value stream variances to ensure work aligns with project/value stream objectives.
