Position: Aggregate Miner 3
Location: Town of Vermont

Casella Construction is seeking to hire an Aggregate Miner Three to join our Aggregate Team in North Clarendon, VT. As Miner Three, you will play a critical role in quarry operations, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols. You will be responsible for advanced equipment operation, keeping up with production needs, being a team player and coordinating with management to meet operational goals.

This position requires experience in mining or a related industry in operations of heavy equipment and or labor-intensive work when needed.

Responsibilities
  • Operate and troubleshoot advanced quarry equipment, including crushers, Excavators and loaders
  • Execute planned maintenance and production operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations
  • Train and mentor Miner One and Miner Two employees, promoting skill development
  • Inspect and maintain quarry infrastructure, identifying potential hazards or inefficiencies
  • Work closely with management to track production goals and suggest process improvements
  • Enforce workplace safety standards, ensuring compliance with MSHA and environmental regulations
  • Assist with quarry shutdown operations, including seasonal maintenance and equipment repairs
  • Communicate effectively with Aggregate team
  • Training requirements, both in person and online, as needed or required
  • Perform welding and fabrication tasks to repair and maintain quarry equipment, including crushers, conveyors, and other heavy machinery, ensuring operational efficiency and safety compliance
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in mining, quarrying, or heavy industrial operations
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in welding and fabricating heavy machinery and equipment, preferably in a quarry or similar industrial environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical certifications preferred
  • heavy equipment operations (or willing to obtain).
  • Deep understanding of quarry safety protocols, including MSHA and OSHA standards
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and make real-time operational decisions
  • Experience in winter maintenance and site preparation for seasonal shutdowns
Physical Requirements
  • Must have physical strength, balance, hand eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas
  • Must be able safely to climb and dismount a ladder
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and climb inclines for the duration of the shift
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather

Hourly Hiring Range: $25.00/hr.

- $30.00/hr.

Schedule:

Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM.

This range reflects the base pay we reasonably expect to offer for this position at the time of posting, considering current market conditions and industry benchmarks.

Final and individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.
