Location: Town of Vermont

Rutland Regional Medical Center is seeking a Nursing Professional Development Specialist to lead education and professional growth for our nursing staff. In this community-focused, patient-centered environment, you will assess learning needs, design and deliver evidence-based education, coordinate onboarding and competency validation, and support certification and career advancement. Collaborating with nursing leadership and interdisciplinary teams, you will promote a culture of continuous learning, quality, and safety while advancing clinical excellence and supporting high-quality, compassionate care for our region.

Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and evaluate nursing education programs aligned with evidence-based practice and organizational goals
  • Assess learning needs of nursing staff and develop individualized and unit-based development plans
  • Coordinate onboarding, orientation, and competency validation for new and existing nursing staff
  • Facilitate classroom, simulation, and bedside education to support clinical skill development and best practices
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership, educators, and interdisciplinary teams to support quality and safety initiatives
  • Use data, feedback, and outcomes to continuously improve education programs and professional development offerings
  • Support certification preparation, career advancement pathways, and continuing education for nursing staff
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards in all educational activities
  • Serve as a clinical resource and mentor, promoting a culture of learning, inquiry, and professional growth
  • Participate in committee work, projects, and system-wide initiatives related to education and practice excellence
