PHC & Tree Technician

• Provide essential ground support to the tree crew, including staging branches, maintaining clear work zones, and assisting climbers with tools and rigging.
• Operate and maintain tree care equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, and stump grinders in accordance with safety standards.
• Assist with tree climbing activities, including pruning, shaping, and removals, under the guidance of experienced team members.
• Manage Plant Health Care (PHC) routes, performing inspections, diagnosing plant health issues, and applying treatments using both organic and traditional methods.
• Adjust PHC workload seasonally, dedicating more hours during peak spring and fall periods and routine services in the summer.
• Maintain accurate records of treatments, client communications, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Communicate professionally with clients during site visits, providing education and updates as needed.
• Participate in the maintenance of gear, tools, and PHC equipment, both in the shop and in the field.
• Uphold Arbor Scape’s safety standards and contribute to a positive, team‑oriented work environment.

• Required:
  • Ability to obtain a Vermont Commercial Pesticide Applicator License within 90 days of employment.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and professional email correspondence.
  • Excellent physical fitness and the ability to perform outdoor labor in various weather conditions, including lifting and bending.
• Preferred:
  • 1+ years of tree work experience, ideally with some foundational climbing experience.
  • ISA Certified Arborist credential (or willingness to obtain).
  • A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is a plus.
• A degree in a forestry, horticulture, or a related field.

$24 – $29 per hour
, depending on experience.
