We are seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician to help mentor others and participate as a leader with us. As an HVAC Service Technician III, you will tackle complex HVAC challenges across a wide range of systems, serve as a trusted adviser to our clients and mentor less experienced technicians. Your technical expertise, industry certifications and commitment to integrity will ensure we deliver best‑in‑class service every time.
We are targeting to hire in two geographic territories:
1. Northern Vermont serving primarily Chittenden, Franklin, Lamoille, and Washington Counties & 2. Central Vermont serving primarily Addison, Rutland, and Washington Counties. Our Service Technician roles may occasionally assist neighboring regions as business needs arise.
Our Service Team provides a supportive, team‑oriented environment with multiple Senior Technicians and Journeymen & Master plumbers available for in‑house technical support and mentorship. Within the department, we employ HVAC Service Technicians, Service Plumbers, Service Installers, and a full Commercial Kitchen Service Group, offering additional expertise and cross‑training opportunities.

All field positions in the Service Department can enjoy a four‑day work week schedule for improved work‑life balance.
Pay range: $44 to 56/hour based on experiences
Responsibilities- Hospital‑grade and complex mechanical systems
- Industrial steam and pressure‑controlled systems
- Pneumatics and advanced low‑voltage controls
- All equipment serviced by Service Technician II’s, including:
- Light commercial systems (RTUs, AHUs, WSHPs)
- VRF, heat pumps, and DX systems
- Chillers, cooling towers, boilers, and hydronic loops
- Basic low‑voltage control circuits
- Technical Leadership
- Provide on‑job coaching and troubleshooting support to Technicians I & II, Installation teams, and Vermont Mechanical construction leaders as needed.
- Collaborate with Sales to tailor service proposals and scope of work
- Preventive Maintenance & On‑Call Support
- Execute scheduled PM visits as needed
- Rotate through the department’s on‑call schedule
- Documentation
- Complete thorough service reports, diagnostic logs, and daily visit summaries
- Minimum 3 years’ experience performing all Service Technician II duties at a high level
- Proven ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with teammates
- Strong ethical judgment and professional demeanor
- Required certifications/licenses:
- Natural gas, propane, and heating oil
- Backflow prevention
- Type S electrical
- Valid driver’s license required with a clean driving record and able to travel to NY, NH, and VT
- Occasionally lifting up to 100 pounds
- Regularly lifting between 25 and 50 pounds
- Regularly bending, climbing, crouching, and working overhead.
- Working at heights
- Driving – sitting for periods of time.
- Exposure to extreme temperatures
- Working in awkward spaces and at heights.
This is a field‑based position: work primarily performed at commercial facilities, including rooftops, mechanical rooms, confined spaces, and variable environmental conditions.
