Full‑time | Year‑round positions available.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints to assess or plan plumbing installations and layouts.
  • Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems and fixtures.
  • Cut, weld, and assemble pipes, tubes, fittings, and fixtures.
  • Inspect and test plumbing systems for safety, functionality, and code compliance.
  • Handle customer queries and respond to call outs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems.
  • Prepare cost estimates.
  • Support and manage plumbing‑related preventive maintenance programs, including valve exercising, system flushing, inspection of plumbing and hydronic systems, and routine verification of critical equipment.
  • Maintain accurate plumbing system documentation, mandating records for valves, equipment, and other reference materials.
  • Keep an organized workshop area, manage inventory accuracy, and communicate ordering needs.
  • Use the resort’s digital work order, ticketing, and inventory tracking systems via phone, tablet, or computer to receive assignments, document work, and update task status.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities; however, the Master Plumber may provide technical guidance, hands‑on training, and mentorship to apprentices or developing technicians as department needs evolve.

Qualifications

Education and Experience
Fifth‑year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Must apply basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability
Apply common sense to carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions. Handle problems with several concrete variables in standard situations.

Computer Skills
Send and receive emails, conduct online research, use Word and Excel at a basic level, and operate the resort’s digital work order, ticketing, and inventory tracking systems.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid driver’s license and eligibility for the resort’s motor‑vehicle insurance policy. Must possess a State of Vermont issued master or journeyman plumber’s license.

Other Skills & Abilities
Strong understanding of construction and maintenance practices and safe work practices.

Other Qualifications
Strong interpersonal and management skills. Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

Physical Demands
Frequent standing, walking, sitting, using hands, reaching, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling. Occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds and sometimes up to 100 pounds. Requires close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision.

Work Environment
Wet or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather, extreme heat or vibration. Occasional exposure to extreme cold, electrical shock, explosives, or radiation. Noise levels typically moderate, occasionally loud.

Resort Conditions
Winter resort area with varied venues, including steep stairways, multi‑level buildings, and outdoor work sites. Work may involve traveling via chairlifts or snow‑based transport. Walking surfaces frequently frozen, sloped, and slippery. Proper footwear required. Workdays, hours, and number of hours vary, emphasizing weekends and holidays.
