Carpenter’s Helper (Part-Time) – Greenland Bends Design | Build

Are you passionate about craftsmanship and looking for an opportunity to grow in the construction industry? Greenland Bends Design | Build is looking for a Carpenter’s Helper to join our team on a part-time basis (20-28 hours per week). This position offers a flexible schedule, hands‑on training, and plenty of opportunities for growth in a dynamic and creative work environment.

We are seeking a motivated and hardworking individual with a strong work ethic, a desire to grow, and a passion for craftsmanship. Creativity, adaptability, and the ability to work well in a team are key. If you enjoy working with your hands and tackling both creative and technical challenges, we'd love to hear from you!

A basic understanding of construction is necessary, and some experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right person who demonstrates a strong work ethic and a willingness to improve their skills.

Responsibilities
  • Framing – Helping assemble the structural framework for walls, floors, and roofs.
  • Cabinetry installation – Assisting with the placement and finishing of custom and prefabricated cabinets.
  • Sheetrock installation and painting – Helping prepare and finish interior walls and ceilings, painting doors and trim.
  • Trim work – Installing baseboards, molding, and other fine carpentry details.
  • General job site preparation and cleanup – Ensuring an organized and safe workspace.
  • Procuring and loading/unloading materials and tools – Supporting efficient workflow on site.
  • Lifting and carrying materials – Objects weighing 50 pounds or more will be lifted on a regular basis.
  • Learning and applying new skills – Gaining hands‑on experience in both design and construction techniques.
  • Demo, prepping job sites, and cleaning – Assisting with demolition, preparing the site for work, and ensuring the job site is clean and ready for the next phase.
