Diesel Mechanic - Enosburg

• 8 am to 5 pm and on call hours

Perform the majority oftruck and/or trailer maintenance and repairs, ensuring that equipment is available and inoptimaloperatingcondition, while working under minimal supervision. Work with theassistanceof other mechanics or supervisors when performing highly technical or intricate diagnostic repairs.

• Responds to maintenance requests from drivers, safety coordinator, DOT coordinator, lead mechanic, transportation supervisor, and fleet manager.
• Maintains and repairs trucks and trailers to be in proper operatingconditionaccording to DOT specifications.
• Conducts periodic inspections, diagnoses problems,andeliminatingunsafe operating conditions.
• Performs annual vehicle inspection and admissions testsin compliance with state regulations.
• Operates arc andmigweld equipment.
• Other duties as assigned
• This is a full-time position

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• At least two years' experience as a diesel Class 8 vehicle mechanic

• Must be able to read and understand driver inspection reports
• Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and inwriting
• Must be able to provide and use personal hand tools appropriate for working on heavy equipment
• Must have knowledge and understanding of DOT regulations

• Must be able to lift 75lbs.
• Must be able to pass aphysical demandsanalysis
