In this role, you’ll design and run automated and manual tests, perform in-depth analyses, and deliver certification-ready data in compliance with DO-178C

As an Embedded Software Test Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Develop and execute automated and manual tests to verify embedded software against system requirements.
  • Perform detailed software analyses, including timing, memory, structural coverage, and data/control coupling.
  • Generate and maintain certification-ready lifecycle data in compliance with DO-178C Level A, including test cases, procedures, and results.
  • Collaborate with the software development team to review outputs and ensure software quality and compliance.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, providing clear documentation and reporting on software verification activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in embedded software verification in highly regulated environments.
  • Mastery of C and common test scripting languages.
  • Experience with real-time systems, built-in-test, tasking and interrupts, RTOS, and bare-metal development.
  • Knowledge of communication protocols such as CAN, I2C, SPI
    .
  • Strong understanding of software configuration management and modern build, integration, and test methodologies.
  • Comfortable reading electrical schematics, technical documentation, and datasheets.
  • Strong team, communication, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with STMicroelectronics ARM Cortex-M series microcontrollers.
  • Deep understanding of DO-178C and its supplements.
  • Knowledge of ARP 4754A/4761 processes and software certification workflows.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Polarion ALM, Git, Subversion, and G-Suite.
