Senior Test Lead – DO-178B; Onsite – Vergennes, VT

Join a leading aerospace and embedded systems team developing safety‑critical software for next‑generation aviation platforms. We are seeking an experienced Senior Test Lead with strong expertise in DO-178B compliance, Functional Testing, and C++‑based embedded systems to lead test strategy, automation, and quality initiatives for mission‑critical software products.

• Lead verification and validation activities for safety‑critical embedded software in compliance with DO-178B standards.
• Collaborate with software, systems, and hardware engineering teams to review requirements, clarify designs, and develop comprehensive test strategies.
• Create and execute robust functional and integration test plans supporting quality, certification, and program milestones.
• Drive development and execution of automated test frameworks and scripts to improve efficiency, coverage, and defect detection.
• Ensure test environments, tools, and infrastructure are maintained and optimized for embedded software testing.
• Identify and implement process improvements, best practices, and quality initiatives across the test organization.
• Mentor and guide QA/Test Engineers on testing methodologies, DO-178B processes, and automation techniques.
• Support certification activities through test documentation, traceability, compliance evidence, and audit readiness.

• Strong experience with DO-178B / DO-178C certification and verification processes.
• Hands‑on experience with Functional Testing of embedded software systems.
• Strong proficiency in C++.
• Experience developing and executing automated test scripts/frameworks.
• Knowledge of requirements‑based testing, traceability, and defect lifecycle management.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong communication and leadership experience in cross‑functional engineering environments.

• Aerospace, avionics, flight controls, or safety‑critical software experience.
• Experience with embedded Linux, RTOS, or real‑time embedded environments.
• Exposure to certification audits and compliance documentation.
• CSQE (Certified Software Quality Engineer) or similar quality certification.

Pay Range Minimum: $78,000 per year

Pay Range Maximum: $148,000 per year

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance‑based bonuses subject to company policies. In addition, this role is eligible for the following benefits subject to company policies: medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, life, accidental death & dismemberment, and disability insurance; employee assistance program;
