Highway Position

Overview

The Town of Roxbury is looking for a full-time or per diem Employee, the right candidate would be reliable, hardworking, motivated, eager to learn and grow within the Highway Department.

• Operate and maintain highway equipment (plow trucks, loader, backhoe, grader, roadside mower, etc.)
• Perform year-round road maintenance
• Equipment maintenance and repairs
• Work both independently and as part of a small team

• Valid driver's license preferably with a Class B CDL or willingness to obtain one within 6 months at the expense of the town
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in all weather conditions
• Willingness to work overtime during storms and emergencies especially during winter months
• Mechanical and equipment operation skills is a plus

• Competitive pay, $22 to $30 an hour based on experience and qualifications

Hands on, outdoor work with varying seasonal demands. Winter storms require overtime and flexible hours; summer work is four 10 hour days except for emergencies.
