Job SummaryThe Team Lead – Inventory Operations is responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily warehouse activities, ensuring efficient and accurate operations within the Buy Wander warehouse. This role works closely with the Inventory Operations Manager, helps provide leadership to the warehouse team, and fills in for the Inventory Operations Manager when necessary.
Responsibilities Team Leadership and Supervision- Oversee the Material Handling teams, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Coordinate tasks and assignments to ensure smooth workflow and efficient operations.
- Assist with the training of new team members.
- Lead and participate in the unloading of trucks, ensuring manifests are properly entered in the system, contents are verified against packing lists, and items are stored efficiently in the warehouse.
- Assist with the continuous supply of materials to Production Associates.
- Oversee the stocking of items, warehouse inventory scans, and the organization of warehouse shelves.
- Use a smartphone and scanner to ensure every item is scanned into a specific warehouse location.
- Oversee and assist with the pulling and reprocessing of stagnant items off of the warehouse shelves.
- Operate pallet jacks, stocking carts, and forklifts safely and efficiently.
- Perform general cleanup and maintenance of the warehouse environment.
- Fill in for the Inventory Operations Manager when they are away, assuming all responsibilities.
- As a Lead, may be called upon to assist with Front of House duties as necessary.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Forklift certification is required.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management.
- Ability to operate a smartphone and Bluetooth scanner.
- Ability to manage technology to accomplish tasks.
- Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
- This role involves sustained physical activity throughout the shift. The following are bona fide requirements of the position:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
- Ability to bend, stoop, and reach overhead frequently.
- Ability to work at a fast pace in a goal-driven environment.
- Position requires seeing, hearing, use of hands and fingers, sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping in the performance of daily activities.
- Must be able to communicate with others including talking, hearing, and listening and exchanging communication.
