Overview
The Department of Biology at Utah State University ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).) is hiring a Lecturer (not tenure eligible) with a specialization on the teaching of human anatomy and physiology at the Uintah Basin campus in Vernal, Utah. The role for the position would be 90% teaching and 10% service. This is a fiscal year (12 month) appointment. The start date for the position will be 1-Aug.,
2026.
The major responsibilities of the position include teaching Human Anatomy (BIOL
2320, lectures and labs) and Human Physiology (BIOL
2420, lectures and labs). The expected teaching assignment will be 12 credits in each the Fall and Spring semesters, and 6-9 credits in summer. Core duties include developing curriculum aligned with Biology Department standards; preparing lectures and discussions; designing and overseeing associated lab sections; developing student outcomes and assessments; developing and correcting exams; communicating with and responding to student inquiries; ensuring lecture and lab coordination;
and service to the university, professional, and broader community.
- Graduate degree in Biology or related field.
- At least 5 years of university-level teaching experience in human anatomy and physiology.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
