What you’ll need to be our Cook:

Must be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent

Must have a current Food Handler’s Permit

Must pass the Food Safety Manager Certification within 12 months of hire

Clear and professional communication skills to ensure tasks get completed on time and accurately

Previous experience in the food and/or nutrition industry, highly preferred

Head Start/Early Head Start parents will receive preference for employment vacancies for which they are qualified

What you’ll do as the Cook:

Provide consistent access to nutritionally balanced and developmentally appropriate meals

Uphold high standards of food safety and sanitation

Support food inventory, purchasing, and budget tracking for efficiency and compliance

Maintain accurate documentation to support program compliance

Collaborate with staff to reinforce nutrition in the child experience

Actively recruits parent and community volunteers to help in the kitchen

Rural Utah Child Development (RUCD) is a comprehensive child development program designed to meet the educational, emotional, social, and health needs of children. The RUCD team works well together to provide strong support and leadership, creating a consistent and quality learning environment. Children receive individualized lesson plans with developmentally appropriate learning experiences, and families are involved with their children’s education while they receive assistance with personal goals, parenting information, and leadership through parent committees and Policy Council.
