The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating communication and swallowing disorders in patients. This role involves working closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered therapy services. The SLP will develop individualized treatment plans, monitor patient progress, and ensure compliance with clinical and safety standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Evaluation & Treatment
- Assess patients with speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Provide therapeutic interventions to improve communication skills
Clinical Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly
Collaboration & Patient Support
- Work closely with physicians, nurses, and therapy teams
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and progress
- Provide guidance on home care and therapy exercises
Therapy & Rehabilitation Support
- Use evidence-based practices and therapy techniques
- Support patients in achieving functional communication goals
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during therapy sessions
Utah Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) License Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Preferred QualificationsExperience in hospital or clinical settings Familiarity with speech and swallowing therapy techniques Experience working with diverse patient populations
