Job Summary

We are seeking a temporary Chemist to support the daily operations of a US Onshore Regional Laboratory. This role plays a critical part in executing analytical laboratory activities that ensure chemical program integrity, support operational recommendations, and contribute to product quality and performance.

Job Description
  • Perform routine and non-routine laboratory testing in accordance with approved methods, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Accurately document analytical work, observations, and test results within laboratory information systems, reports, and records.
  • Evaluate, verify, and communicate analytical data to ensure accuracy, quality, and timely reporting.
  • Troubleshoot analytical, instrumentation, and sample-related issues and implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, analytical instruments, and work areas in safe and operational condition.
  • Support quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) programs, audits, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct risk assessments before assigned tasks to identify and mitigate safety, quality, and operational risks.
  • Participate in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) and Quality programs and maintain required training certifications.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to all laboratory safety policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to laboratory readiness, operational excellence, and process optimization efforts.
  • Shift: Monday - Friday 40 hr work week w/potential overtime. 8-5 or 7-4 w/1hr lunch break
Skills Required
  • 0-2 years of experience in an industrial, analytical, research, or quality laboratory environment.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision while following established laboratory procedures and protocols.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent documentation and record-keeping abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in oilfield chemistry, chemical manufacturing, industrial laboratories, or related environments.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • High attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Familiarity with laboratory quality systems, testing methodologies, and analytical reporting.
Education
  • Requi red:
    Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
Additional requirements
  • Laboratory-based position requiring adherence to safety and quality procedures.
  • Regular use of laboratory equipment, chemicals, and analytical instruments.
  • Requires the use of appropriate PPE and compliance with all HSE standards.

Pay rate
  • $28 - $34 per hour (Compensation is offered based on experience, skills, and market factors)
