Pay Rate: $28.00 – $34.00 per hour
Shift: Day Shift, Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week
Schedule: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1-hour unpaid lunch)
Overtime: May be required based on business needs
Job SummaryThe Chemist is responsible for performing safe, accurate, and reliable analytical testing within a regional laboratory environment. This role supports product quality, data integrity, and timely service delivery through the execution, evaluation, and reporting of laboratory analyses.
Working with limited supervision, the Chemist performs routine and non-routine testing, evaluates analytical data, troubleshoots laboratory issues, and ensures compliance with established quality and safety standards. The role also supports continuous improvement initiatives, laboratory readiness, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine and non-routine laboratory testing following approved methods and procedures.
- Accurately document analytical work, observations, and results in laboratory systems and reports.
- Evaluate, verify, and communicate analytical data to ensure quality, accuracy, and timely reporting.
- Troubleshoot analytical, instrumentation, and sample-related issues and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, instrumentation, and work areas in a safe and operational condition.
- Support QA/QC programs, audits, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct risk assessments before assigned tasks to identify and mitigate safety, quality, or operational concerns.
- Participate in HSE and Quality initiatives and maintain required safety training.
- Wear appropriate PPE and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field.
- 0–2 years of relevant experience in an industrial or research laboratory environment.
- Ability to work under direct supervision and follow established procedures.
- Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
- Experience with analytical instrumentation and sample preparation.
- Experience in oilfield chemistry, chemical manufacturing, or industrial analytical laboratories.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
