Tax Clerk

Position: Full-Time Tax Clerk - District of Lake Country
Location: Lake Country

Make an impact as a full-time Tax Clerk with the District of Lake Country in BC. This role involves essential property taxation functions and supporting finance operations.

You will report directly to the Manager of Finance, managing property tax records and responding to inquiries. Candidates should have a minimum of two years’ experience in accounting or business administration and post-secondary studies in the same field. Prior municipal property tax experience is a plus. Exceptional mathematical and organizational skills are necessary to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure accuracy of financial and accounting records

• Prepare annual tax and penalty levies effectively

• Create necessary tax sale documentation

• Respond to inquiries from the public and staff

• Maintain compliance with district bylaws and policies

Requirements:

• Minimum two years’ relevant experience

• Two years post-secondary education in accounting/business

• Municipal property tax experience preferred

• Strong organization and time management skills

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
