Coordinator of Recreation Operations

Lead recreation operations as the Coordinator in Vernon, ensuring the safety and efficiency of all city recreation facilities. Take charge of maintenance, ice operations, and modern pool chemistry.

In this role with the City of Vernon, you report to the Manager, Business Services, serving as the technical authority for recreation facilities. You have regulatory responsibility as the designated Chief Engineer for ammonia refrigeration plants and provide hands-on leadership to Facility Operators and Custodians.

Your role is crucial in guaranteeing that the Active Living Centre, arenas, and pools are mechanically reliable and safe for community use.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safeguard recreation facility safety and cleanliness

• Lead all aspects of preventative maintenance

• Oversee ice operations and pool chemistry

• Be the primary site contact for contracted trades

• Supervise and support Facility Operators and Custodians

Requirements:

• Experience in recreation operations management

• Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems required
