Position: Painter at School District No. 22
Join School District No. 22 (Vernon) as a Painter for a 12-month full-time role. This position involves surface preparation and painting of district facilities, both interior and exterior.

Working under the Maintenance Manager, the Painter will be responsible for preparing surfaces, selecting color schemes, and applying paint using various equipment. The role requires you to estimate material needs, liaise with staff to identify specific project requirements, and coordinate with trades helpers for efficient task completion. Safety and compliance with WHMIS regulations are essential in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare surfaces through scraping and sanding

• Design and select color schemes for projects

• Apply paints and other surface treatments accurately

• Repair wall cracks and structures as needed

• Maintain tools and ensure a clean work environment

Requirements:

• Grade 12 education or equivalent

• Interprovincial Trade Certification in painting

• Valid B.C. Class 5 Driver’s License

• Ability to read blueprints and specifications

• Experience working with minimal supervision
