Job Description
We are seeking a certified Journeyman Electrician with expertise in residential and commercial electrical systems for new construction projects and service work. Some off grid and remote work may be required. The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of electrical tasks, including installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting, ensuring all work is executed to high standards and complies with the Canadian Electrical Code.
Responsibilities- Install electrical systems and fixtures in new residential and commercial constructions.
- Perform upgrades and repairs in existing buildings, ensuring systems meet current electrical standards.
- Read and interpret electrical, architectural, and mechanical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with electrical circuits and systems in both residential and commercial settings.
- Ensure all installations and repairs are in accordance with the safety and code requirements of the Canadian Electrical Code.
- Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep detailed records of all inspections and servicing tasks.
- Provide service and customer support during field visits and dispatches, managing on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks.
- Offer guidance and mentorship to apprentice electricians, promoting a safe and collaborative work environment.
- Valid Provincial Journeyperson Electrician license.
- Valid driver's license and a clean drivers abstract.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical installations, particularly in residential and commercial new construction and service work.
- Deep understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code and local building regulations.
- Proficient in using electrical diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Physically capable of performing the job demands, including lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and working in tight spaces.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with teammates and clients.
- Knowledge in waterworks, basic plumbing and wood construction is considered an asset.
