Skilled Carpenter Position

Be part of School District No. 22 as a Carpenter, overseeing various construction and maintenance projects in Vernon. This full-time, 12-month role requires expertise in carpentry and collaboration.

Under the Maintenance Manager, your work will strengthen the District's infrastructure. The position involves repairs to furniture and finishes, structural performance, and inter-departmental communication with teachers and supervisors. You will also manage tasks of trades helpers under your supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct repairs to furniture and building components

• Plan and execute structural renovations

• Lead the relocation and refinement of portable classrooms

• Install and maintain locking hardware systems

• Oversee preventative maintenance programs

Requirements:

• Completion of Grade 12

• Interprovincial Trade Certification in carpentry

• Valid B.C. Class 5 Driver’s License

• Skill in interpreting construction documents

• Familiarity with building codes and trade tools
