Municipal Utility Equipment Operator Position

Location: Lumby

Engage your skills in public service by becoming a Utility/Equipment Operator for the Village of Lumby. This position is pivotal in maintaining vital water and sewer systems for the community.

As part of the Public Works Department, you will oversee the maintenance, testing, and operations of water and sewer infrastructures. Reporting to the Public Works Working Foreman, you will drive heavy machinery, perform essential maintenance tasks, and manage snow removal duties. Strong hands-on experience in municipal works is essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain municipal water and sewer systems

• Conduct maintenance on equipment and infrastructure

• Drive trucks for collection and snowplowing tasks

• Ensure compliance with safety and operation standards

• Perform regular inspections and testing of water systems

Requirements:

• Five years’ experience in municipal works

• EOCP Level 1 Water Distribution and Wastewater certifications

• Valid Class 5 Drivers License with air endorsement

• Strong skills in heavy equipment operation

• Completion of Grade 12 education or equivalent
