Key Responsibilities of the Cost Accountant:

Support the Operations Finance Manager as a backup and key partner
Assist with month-end close, inventory valuation, and roll-forward analysis
Maintain inventory relief processes for subcomponents and finished goods
Conduct quarterly physical inventories and cycle counts, resolving discrepancies
Establish and update standard costs for manufactured products
Analyze cost accounting data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
Develop cost structures across labor, overhead, and operational processes
Provide strategic recommendations to improve cost efficiency and profitability
Stay current on industry trends, tools, and best practices
Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial analysis

Qualifications for the Cost Accountant:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
2+ years of cost accounting experience
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Office Suite
Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools
Solid understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and support decision-making
