The Sales Support Generalist plays a vital role in supporting customers and driving success across all sales channels. Core responsibilities include providing responsive and professional support to customers via phone and email, managing orders and service cases, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and identifying opportunities for operational improvements. The ideal candidate is highly organized, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and excels at juggling multiple priorities.
This role is a critical resource for the sales team, bridging efforts across operations, accounting, customer service, and product management to help unlock the full potential of the business.
- Provide exceptional phone and email support as the primary point of contact for customers in a high call volume environment, resolving inquiries and order-related issues promptly and accurately.
- Process customer orders, returns, and exchanges while working with internal teams to confirm product availability and address any inventory discrepancies.
- Validate and route incoming leads to the appropriate sales teams or account managers, while assisting with CRM updates and account reporting.
- Collaborate with purchasing, product management, and operations to improve workflows, optimize sales processes, and elevate the overall customer experience.
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives and continuous improvement efforts that drive sales growth and operational excellence across AKG.
Education and Experience Required
- High school diplomas or equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience in sales support, customer service, or a similar role.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and sales tools (e.g., Excel including vlookups and pivots, Salesforce).

Job Type: Regular Full-time

Hours:
Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
Pay: $25-27/hour
Hybrid work schedule - 3 days a week in our Vernon Hills, IL office.
