Demonstrate accurate, up-to-date knowledge of content and Illinois State Standards
Demonstrate a clear understanding of the Dual Language Philosophy, teaching strategies, and goals
Implement the assigned program of study
Foster a classroom climate conducive to learning
Utilize instructional management systems that increase student learning and maximize time of task
Monitor student progress towards achieving instructional objectives and goals
Communicate effectively within the educational community and with parents on a regular basis
Meet professional responsibilities
Maintain and upgrade professional skills
Maintain professional work habits
Promote and maintain positive pupil-teacher-parent relationships
Applicants must hold, or be eligible for, a valid Illinois Elementary Teaching Certificate
Applicants must be able to demonstrate Highly Qualified status per No Child Left Behind (NCLB)
The ability to speak Spanish is preferred
