Coordinator of Instructional and Information Technology for the School Year
The ELC is located in Vernon Hills (Lake County), Illinois; is a special education cooperative providing services to students identified with special needs, ages 3 through 22 years of age. The ELC represents Kildeer Countryside Community Consolidated School District 96, Lincolnshire-Prairie View School District 103, Adlai
E. Stevenson High School District 125 and Fox Lake District 114. The ELC serves eight elementary schools, four junior high/middle schools and one high school.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree: preferred instructional technology or technology
- Ability to travel within the member districts and move about ELC and district buildings as necessary
- Experience working with technology infrastructures and tools to support students with disabilities
- Experience in K-12 student information software application and/or expertise, training, development and delivery of technical application systems
- Innovates with tools to support a variety of students with needs
- Possesses strong organizational and problem solving skills
- Demonstrates excellent oral skills and written communications skills
Infrastructure and Systems:
- Serve as the cooperative primary technology resource, overseeing the operation, maintenance, security, and support of all technology systems and services
- Manage and support network infrastructure, including wired and wireless networks, firewalls, switches, routers, VPNs, internet connectivity, and cybersecurity systems
- Support technology platforms, including but not limited to Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, user accounts, communications systems, printing services, and educational technology resources
- Maintain and support physical security systems, such as door access controls, s, and other network-connected facilities technologies
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity, data protection, backup, and technology compliance practices
- Evaluate, recommend, inventory, and deploy technologies and infrastructure improvements to support district operations along with an obsolescence plan for devices
- Maintain technology documentation, procedures, and vendor relationships
- Provide technical support, training, and guidance to staff and administrators
- Collaborate with cooperative leadership, vendors, and external technology partners to support instructional and operational technology initiatives
- Work collaboratively and take guidance from member district Directors of Information Technology regarding technology priorities, infrastructure needs, and technology requirements.
- Assist the cooperative in exploration of E-rate
- Support the ELC website and social media platforms
- Integrates assistive (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). digital tools to enhance learning for diverse learners
- Trains staff, model lessons, and customize technology to remove learning barriers, focusing on IEP compliance, communication apps, and individualized support
- Provide professional development to teachers, related service providers, and paraprofessionals on integrating instructional technology and specialized software
- Develop and revise training materials and reference guides for staff to ensure consistency between processes and platforms
- Promote high student achievement and access for all students
- Co-teach and model effective technology usage in classrooms and/or therapy sessions
- Support best practices around special education and tools to level the playing field for students the cooperative serves
- Provide training, workshops, and coaching to teachers, related service providers, paraprofessionals, and parents on how to use specialized technology and tools effectively
- Provide regular communication and support to staff around new tools and ideas for implementation
- Identify, evaluate, recommend, and purchase technology tools, platforms, and applications that support special education students' needs
- Assist in purchasing decisions, curriculum support, and basic troubleshooting for student devices
- Diagnose, support, and resolve technical problems with classroom devices, software, and accessibility tools
- Complete all other projects and duties as assigned
