Precision Resource seeks Manufacturing Engineers to join our well-established Vernon Hills, Illinois manufacturing division located about 30 miles north of Chicago and 30 miles south of Kenosha, Wisconsin. Summary

Manufacturing Engineers lead the transition from new product development to manufacturing, providing daily manufacturing support for existing products, and for developing, implementing and improving processes and machinery and equipment performance. This position drives continuous improvement through operational efficiencies and innovative engineering solutions. Successful candidates will be committed to the highest level of integrity and bring a hands‑on approach to daily operations. We offer on‑going training with a collaborative technical team.

Essential

Duties
  • Plan, design, and coordinate integration of machinery and equipment into manufacturing process, using engineering principles.
  • Develop and write equipment specifications, performance requirements, cost analysis, and proposal for integrating machining and equipment.
  • Design fixtures, gages, custom machines, and other equipment using Solidworks. Purchase tooling and fittings. Collaborate with Corporate Technical Center.
  • Develop manufacturing quotes from initial RFQ through final costing; contact and compare suppliers.
  • Recommend improvements in method, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.
  • Develop models of alternate processing methods to test feasibility of new applications of system components and recommend implementation of improved procedures.
  • Optimize manufacturing processes to provide sustainable gains in cost effectiveness and product performance through capital projects, statistical analysis, designed experiments, and procedural changes.
  • Support production by troubleshooting and providing solutions to fix or improve machinery, conveyors, and custom machines, including robotic systems. Communicate with operators.
  • Identify, analyze and resolve tool and machine failures; work with AI to create scripts identifying correct failure modes.
  • Create, maintain and analyze Power Automate and Power BI reports for optimum production impact.
  • Create and deliver PowerPoint presentations for customers and internal leadership
  • Participate in safety initiatives.
Qualifications
  • BS Degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience with machining and/or tool making.
  • 1-5+ years experience, or related internships, in a metals manufacturing related industry.
  • Experience working with Solid Works or Auto Cad.
  • Outstanding analytical skills and ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and other documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Knowledge of production machinery in a metals manufacturing environment.
  • Confident ability to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and employees.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Excellent computer skills with MS applications and Outlook.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations.
  • Self‑motivated with a desire to learn, contribute, and continuously improve performance.
  • Must be able to work independently but also collaborate and communicate well with others.
