Position Summary
The Senior Sales Support Specialist focuses on driving business growth by identifying and capitalizing on sales opportunities within existing accounts. This role partners with channel sales leaders to proactively expand revenue through cross‑selling, upselling, and introducing new products to clients. The specialist helps develop and implement growth strategies that maximize account potential by leveraging data analysis and customer insights. Additional responsibilities include order processing, account management, fostering strong client relationships, and ensuring high customer satisfaction to fuel long‑term business success.
Acting as a critical resource for the sales team, the specialist bridges operations, accounting, customer service, and product management to maximize business potential.
- Support the sales team with account management tasks, including identifying and pursuing opportunities to grow revenue, order management tasks, and account activity tracking.
- Collaborate with purchasing and product management to monitor inventory levels, address coverage gaps, and ensure product availability to meet customer needs.
- Assist in preparing sales proposals and reports to support the sales team.
- Serve as a point of contact for customer inquiries, ensuring timely and satisfactory resolution of issues.
- Analyze account performance, identify trends, and recommend growth strategies to account managers.
- Work with internal teams to streamline sales processes and enhance overall service delivery.
- 3+ years of experience in sales support, account management, or a similar role.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and sales tools (e.g., Excel including vlookups and pivots, Salesforce).
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and develop actionable insights.
- Sales‑driven with a proactive approach to uncovering opportunities and achieving growth.
- Collaborative team player who excels in cross‑functional environments.
- Strong organizational skills with a focus on driving results and attention to detail.

Job Location:
AKG Main HQ Office – Vernon Hills, IL 60061
Salary Range: $60,000 – $68,000 per year
Job Type: Regular Full-time

8:30AM – 5:00PM (Hybrid work schedule – 3 days a week in our Vernon Hills, IL office)
