Job SummaryUsed Car Mechanic/ Technician Suburban Subaru is seeking a Used Car Mechanic/ Technician to join our dynamic team in Vernon, Connecticut. This full-time position in the automotive industry focuses specifically on maintaining and repairing used vehicles! As a Used Car Mechanic/ Tech at Ed's Garage, you will play a crucial role in inspecting, diagnosing, and ensuring the quality and safety of our used vehicle inventory.
This role offers competitive compensation with a base pay plus commission based on performance, alongside opportunities for career advancement within our dealership.

- Inspect and test drive used vehicles to identify any existing or potential issues
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain used vehicles according to dealership standards and manufacturer specifications
- Record and report all necessary information and repair suggestions to management
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and filter replacements
- Stay updated with advancements in automotive technology and techniques through regular training
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to safety protocols
- Collaborate effectively with team members and departments for efficient workflow
- Provide exceptional customer service and address customer concerns or questions about vehicle repairs
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a used car mechanic/ tech in a dealership or automotive repair shop setting
- ASE certification preferred, but not required
- Proficiency with automotive diagnostic equipment and tools
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Strong problem-solving skills and time-management abilities
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety protocols
- Must have own set of tools
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
