The Greater Manchester Region has approximately 2,500 employees. It includes Manchester Memorial Hospital, a 249-bed community hospital, Rockville General, a campus of Manchester Memorial Hospital, a 102-bed facility, a large multispecialty provider group and visiting nurse services. The Greater Manchester Region serves a region of 300,000 people in 19 towns.
Position SummaryThe Manager of Engineering is responsible to the Director of Engineering to oversee the daily activities of the Facilities Engineering Department personnel and all functions relating to utilities & utility equipment management, facilities, buildings, grounds, clinical engineering, utilities and related equipment systems. The majority of the day-to-day oversight will be over Rockville General, a campus of MMH but will also help with other projects throughout the network based on review and oversight of the director.
QualificationsMinimum Requirements:
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- A Connecticut driver’s license is also required.
- Three to Five years of increasing responsibility in facility maintenance or project management in a health care setting.
- At least three years’ experience in a supervisory role.
- Familiarity with building maintenance techniques, equipment, and operation of various systems, including plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and structural.
- CHFM Certification or bachelor’s degree in related field strongly preferred.
- S2 or P2 license preferred.
- Licensed in plumbing, electrical or HVAC preferred.
Must be familiar with applicable codes, specifically NFPA and building codes, have ability to apply principles of personnel management in the workplace, and be fluently familiar with preventive maintenance management system.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license, and maintain a driving record free of any violations and pass a safe driving educational program upon hire and annually thereafter.
- Must be able to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Knowledgeable in Joint Commission Standards, DPH, CMS, DEEP and OSHA regulations.
- Mid-level computer skills in Excel, basic level computer skills in PowerPoint for presentations and operational skills for the building management system.
