Overview
Garda World Security Services is now hiring a Tactical Security Officer. The role requires reading the environment, anticipating risk, and acting accordingly. Physical ability is essential as you will patrol various environments such as retail stores, airports, and detention centers.

Responsibilities- Patrol sensitive areas to spot any suspicious activity
- Verify identities and control access to secure areas
- React quickly to threats or incidents
- Check the proper functioning of alarms and cameras
- Document incidents and actions taken
- Respond to alarms and conduct on-site checks
- Collaborate with law enforcement during serious incidents
- Ensure the safety and protection of individuals and property
- Be authorized to work in the U.S.
- You are 21 years old or older
- Provide documentation of High School Diploma or GED
- State security license (CT state Blue Card) with valid armed endorsement
- Armed employee must either be a prior law enforcement officer with a minimum of 5 years’ experience, or a career military or military police officer
- Minimum of six (6) months of armed work experience (may include military and/or law enforcement)
- Pass an LEAI Assessment (62% or higher)
- Pass government-required live-fire testing and meet minimum scores as established by the state of Connecticut
- Complete standard NRA course of fire with eighty percent (80%) proficiency
- Pass standard GWSS employee physical
- Pass modified agility exam (lifting, moving, flexibility) including Kraus Weber Test
- Pass a Human Performance Evaluation (HPE)
- Have or be able to attain all necessary immunizations
- Provide personally owned duty weapon (9mm handgun & three magazines of minimum 10-round capacity)
- Complete certification to carry an approved less-lethal alternative (OC Spray)
- Be able to ace (and pass) an extensive screening process
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal
- Clean motor vehicle record and ability to operate a security vehicle
- Ability to respond to high-pressure situations with professionalism and calmness
- First aid certification is an asset
- Ability to stand and walk for the entire shift
Note:
The schedule details are as follows:
- Full Time - Sunday to Thursday, 7am to 3pm
- Full Time - Monday to Wednesday 3pm to 11pm and Friday to Saturday 7am to 3pm
- Full Time - Thursday to Sunday, 3pm to 11pm
- Full Time - Sunday to Thursday, 11pm to 7am
- Part Time - Friday to Saturday, 11pm to 7am
