Position Summary:
This role is responsible to the Center Director for ensuring compliance with all program regulations and for creating a safe, healthy, and engaging educational environment for enrolled infants, toddlers, and families. Early Head Start is committed to building a loving, caring environment where infants, toddlers, parents, and staff learn from one another. Staff must demonstrate sensitivity to and knowledge of cultural differences and community needs while upholding the program’s Standards of Conduct.
Orientation, pre‑service, and in‑service training are provided to help staff succeed in their roles.

- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- CDA Credential in Infant/Toddler preferred; if not currently certified, will be classified as EHS Teacher in Training and must obtain CDA within one year (RPMC covers cost of CDA)
- Must be willing to take and pass a drug/alcohol test and comply with the Agency’s Drug‑Free Policy
- Must pass regular criminal history checks
- Must submit to TB tests as required
- Must provide reliable self‑transportation for regional travel
- Must possess and maintain a valid Texas driver’s license with appropriate classification and endorsements
- Must maintain a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and meet minimum insurability requirements (MVR checks may be conducted by the Agency)
- Regular lifting of infants, toddlers, classroom supplies, and equipment; occasional lifting of furniture
- Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting, or moving up to 25 pounds
- Frequent sitting on the floor and working at child level for extended periods
- Occasional squatting and bending
- Ability to adapt to inclement weather conditions
- Noise levels can be moderate to loud in the center environment
- Ability to work in a stressful environment and manage stress effectively
- Flexibility to work schedules as established by management
- Light to normal travel for field trips, meetings, classes, and workshops within and outside the service area
- Ability to drive occasionally long distances
- Must be able to travel by air when required for training, conferences, and related activities
