Under the supervision of the Director of Rehabilitation or designee, assists in performing mid-level rehabilitative planning and instructional work for patients with mental health challenges in a forensic and/or psychiatric setting. Additionally, assists with the development of comprehensive, structured psychoeducation and psychosocial programs. Work involves assisting with identifying clients' strengths, interests and rehabilitative needs and providing the necessary instruction outlined in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team in teaching self-help or self-care to assist clients in attaining their optimum levels of independent living.
Provides services in groups or on an individual basis. Performs assigned duties alone or as part of a multidisciplinary team. Works under moderate supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Employee must understand that duties, location of work and shift patterns are subject to change as to best meet the needs of the department, program, or hospital.
Performs other duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency’s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location.
This position may also be eligible to earn additional pay for work performed on maximum security locations.
