Job Description
Summary:
The Patient Services Specialist (PSS) handles most clerical duties associated with a medical clinic. The role is structured into stations; each station has a distinct set of duties. All PSS staff are expected to learn and perform the duties of all front office stations and assist co-workers across stations as needed. Demonstrated copywriting and editing skills are essential, with attention to detail and the ability to meet time-sensitive priorities.
The position requires strong organization and flexibility to adapt to changing priorities. Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
- Perform clerical duties across front-office stations and support coworkers by covering duties as needed.
- Learn and perform all duties of all front office stations as required by daily work assignments.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness in routine tasks; maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Assist in patient intake, scheduling, documentation, and other front-office processes as directed.
- Uphold standards of professionalism and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
- Education:
High School Diploma / GED required. - Experience:
Experience in the healthcare field is highly preferred. - Core Capabilities:

- Interpersonal Effectiveness: diplomacy, tact, conflict management, diversity awareness; ability to work with sensitive material.

strong English language skills; second language is an asset; effective oral, written, and presentation communication. - Customer Service & Organizational Awareness: customer focus and collaboration across teams.
- Self-Management: time management, prioritization, stress management; ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Computer
Skills:
proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Licenses:
Valid state Driver’s License for travel to satellite offices and offsite meetings. Compliance with Driver Safety Operations and MVR policy required.
- Travel: 26-50% of the time.
- Remote:
No - Standard Core Workdays/
Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
- Background, drug, and nicotine screenings are required. Offers contingent upon clear results of background checks.
- Vaccinations, including influenza, may be required unless exempted.
