St. John of the Cross Catholic Church located in Vero Beach, FL, is searching for a full‑time Pastoral Coordinator.

• Administers and schedules a parish religious education program
• Orders textbooks, teaching materials and resources for religious education programs
• Prepares an annual budget for the Pastor
• Prepares a yearly calendar and presents it to the Pastor for approval
• Meets with Pastor routinely to plan and execute CCD program
• Supports and endorses Diocesan and Parish board policies
• Provides resources and operates OCIA and facilitates the OCIA process
• Maintains accurate records of students, Mass and Class attendance
• Maintains sacramental records for students
• Provides access and inclusion for children with special needs
• Involves family as an essential part in faith formation
• Creates service and fundraising opportunities for Youth Group
• Maintains weekly sign‑in and sign‑out sheets
• Supervises Youth Ministers, OCIA and Adult programs staff and volunteers
• Coordinates and prepares teams for Baptismal Prep, First Communion, Confirmation and OCIC Programs as needed
• Creates a Youth Group Program
• Involves in liturgy planning
• Monitors Protecting God’s Children for volunteers (Compliance for the Diocese)
• Is a committed, active and dynamic presence in the Parish
• Facilitates Children’s Liturgy of the Word during 11 AM Sunday Mass
• Creates a Summer Vacation Bible School program and summer programs for teens

• Bachelor’s degree in theology/religious education required or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions described above
• 2–4 years of experience preferred working in Religious Education
• Must have a thorough knowledge and ability to teach Catholic doctrine
• Practicing Catholic required
• Adheres to the Diocese of Palm Beach Code of Conduct with emphasis on confidentiality and the ability to exercise discretion and good judgment
• Ability to work effectively with Diocesan employees, department heads, and representatives of other Diocesan agencies

• Occasional light lifting and carrying of under 15 pounds
• Occasional moderate carrying and lifting of 15–44 pounds
• Occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
• Frequent bending, climbing, stretching and kneeling
• Frequent use of both hands and fingers
• Occasional moments of minimal and routine hearing
