Carney, Sandoe & Associates, an education recruitment firm, is currently seeking a Chaplain starting in Fall 2026 at an independent school in Vero Beach, FL.

School Chaplain Responsibilities:
  • Develop a meaningful and inclusive Chapel program for the Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools.
  • Collaborate with school administration to facilitate pastoral care and counseling for community members as needed.
  • Plan and oversee major school worship services and liturgical events.
  • Support school events with opening prayers and pastoral presence as requested.
  • Promote and encourage the spiritual well-being of the community.
  • Oversee school's community service and outreach programs.
  • Lead bible study for lower, middle, and upper school students and families.
  • Oversee annual Chaplaincy budget ensuring strategic allocation of resources.
  • Teach classes as assigned by the Head of School and Division Heads.
School Chaplain Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Divinity, Religious Studies, or related field required.
  • Previous experience designing and leading worship services.
  • Previous ministry experience preferred.
  • No teaching license or credential is required.
  • Strong interpersonal as well as written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organized, dependable, and eager to contribute to the school community.
  • Willingness to assist with school community activities.
Additional Desired Qualities:
  • Must be an ordained Episcopal clergy or a clergy person from another jurisdiction willing to become a member of the Episcopal Diocese of Central Florida.
  • Previous independent school experience preferred, but not required.
