JOB SUMMARYUnder minimal supervision, this position support the development and implementation of an interdisciplinary curriculum, including needs assessments and pre- and post-assessments, for high school students from underrepresented backgrounds. Deliver high-quality classroom instruction in assigned academic subjects, evaluate individual student needs, and provide targeted tutoring and academic support as necessary.
Course content is designed to be dynamic, engaging, and student-centered, emphasizing project-based learning, collaboration, and teamwork while incorporating multicultural perspectives. Mentors foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that encourages active participation, promotes student engagement, and demonstrates a strong commitment to helping students achieve academic success.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Develops and implements engaging and interactive lesson plans in various subjects, including mathematics, science, English, foreign languages, and social studies.
- Enforce and abide by Upward Bound rules and regulations
- Participate in Staff Training, scheduled staff meetings, etc.
- Provides individualized tutoring and academic support to students to enhance their understanding and performance in core subjects.
- Monitors and assesses student progress regularly, provides constructive feedback to students and their parents or guardians.
- Collaborates with other instructors and staff members to coordinate educational activities, workshops, and field trips.
